As always, anyone with information on any fire or incident, not just arson, may call either the TOLL-FREE Arson Hotline, or the Lincoln number to report this information. As of July 31, 2009 hospitals have sent us reports of 108 firework-related injuries during the survey period of June 25 through July 5, 2009. As of July 31, 2008 hospitals have sent us reports of 140 firework-related injuries during the survey period of June 25 through July 5, 2008. Completed statistics reports are available. FIRE SAFETY CAMPAIGN FOR PEOPLE AGE 50 AND OLDERBased upon statistical results, adults 65 and older made up 32% of the residential fire deaths in Nebraska, and are twice as likely to die in a home fire as the rest of the population.
